Andhra Pradesh's newly appointed chief minister Jagan Mogan Reddy on Wednesday helped a cancer patient after seeing him as his convoy was on his way out of the Visakhapatnam airport.
The cancer patient's identified as Neeraj Kumar friends were standing with a banner outside the Visakhapatnam airport.
The chief minister's cavalcade passed by them. However, the Andhra CM stepped down and met them and spoke to them. He also immediately spoke to a collector and sanctioned Rs 20 lakh for Kumar's cancer treatment.
Days after taking charge as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, on June 3, Jagan Mohan Reddy took an important step to increase the salary of Asha workers in the medical and health department. Reddy, who got a massive mandate for his party YSRCP in the Assembly elections, was sworn in as second Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on May 30 after bifurcation and he immediately announced Rs.3,000 as pension per month for senior citizens in the state.
The news agency ANI reported on Monday that the YS Jagan Reddy-led Andhra government will increase the salary of from Rs 3000 to Rs 10000.
On the same day, he had directed officials to give top priority to the completion of the Polavaram project.
At a review meeting held on June 3, Jagan enquired about the present status of the project and period of completion and said if there is any instance of awarding works on nomination quoting a high price, the state government will opt for reverse tendering to save money to the exchequer.
In the assembly election held parallelly with the Lok Sabha elections, Reddy's YSRCP won 151 seats in the state's 175 assembly seats, by entirely whitewashing Chandrababu Naidu's TDP from the state. Taking to Twitter, Reddy had thanked the people of Andhra for giving him a chance to serve them
