Reacting to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's claim against the misuse of security personnel by the BJP, BJP's Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday has said that May 23 will say how much effect Kejriwal's words have on the people.

He said: "I will only tell him that such a period has passed. Kejriwal was trying to seal a deal with Congress, he has forgotten that Rajiv Gandhi conspired with others to make the government of Chandrashekhar fall. What effect Kejriwal has in this election, we will see."

Earlier in the day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had claimed that his life can be ended within minutes by his own security as they report to the BJP-led Central Government.

"All the police personnel who are around me report to the BJP government (Central government). My PSO also reports to the BJP government. Maybe using my PSO itself -in a similar fashion to Indira Gandhi's assassination,  BJP might assassinate me. My life can be ended within two minutes," he said in an interview.

Reacting on it, CPI-M Chief Sitaram Yechury said that the Chief Minister's concerns should be taken seriously.

"We do not have any such information. If the Chief Minister has any such reports, it should be taken seriously as it is a security concern. No carelessness can be afforded in such matters," Yechury said.

WATCH: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Issues First Statement After Man Slaps Him During Moti Nagar Roadshow

Previously, Kejriwal had been attacked during a roadshow in the national capital. 33-year-old Suresh, who slapped the AAP convener, has been identified as a scrap dealer in the area and a former supporter of the ruling party in Delhi. Reportedly, he slapped Arvind Kejriwal because he was dissatisfied with the behaviour of the party leaders in the national capital. This was the ninth attack on him in the last five years and fifth attack after he became the CM in 2015 and he termed the multiple attacks at him as a 'conspiracy.'

"So if I have been attacked, then the responsibility goes to the BJP party. Why was I attacked, what was the reason - all of these are matters of discussions for later? It is believed that it is a conspiracy as it has occurred repeatedly. It is a deliberate attempt of an attack," Kejriwalsaid addressing a press conference.
