Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday tore into Rahul Gandhi's demands on the Rafale deal in the Lok Sabha and countered the Congress party president by reminding them about Bofors and National Herald case.

"Since names can't be taken but abbreviations can be used (in the Lok Sabha), one can say when he was young, was he playing in the lap of a certain 'Q' (Quattrocchi) about whom in the Bofors case CEO had written that 'Q must be protected at all cost' and subsequently bank account of Q was discovered. They understood commerce and arithemetic then. What is National Herald about? How a public trust was changed into Congress private property. The members of the family are out on bail. Congress doesn't understand national security

"If the fingers point at you in AugustaWestland, National Herald and Bofors, then it is a bit too much. Today, they have the audacity to raise an allegation against us"

He also said that he was disappointed to hear Rahul Gandhi's speech that despite the Supreme Court's judgment, the Congress president has a view on Rafale deal

"After hearing the lead speaker (Rahul Gandhi) on behalf of the Congress party are all utterly disappointed, the country is disappointed because every word he (Rahul) has said has belied in the face of the judgment of the Supreme Court. Normally as a society where judicial review is the last resort, here on every issue that the SC has said, and spoken very clearly and categorically, the lead speaker of the Congress party says he still has a view." 

Rahul Gandhi during his speech in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday on the Rafale deal demanded JPC probe saying that the Supreme Court did not stop for a Parliamentary enquiry.

"The government is saying Supreme Court took a decision on Rafale. But the reality is that it said that Rafale is not in its jurisdiction. It did not say no to JPC and Parliamentary action."

Referring to PM Narendra Modi's interview to ANI, Gandhi began his speech on the Rafale deal and said that he had three questions for the Centre based on process, pricing and patronage.
