Hack:

  • The Congress manifesto in Gujarat promises quota for Patidars but now it has been proved that it is 'unconstitutional' and cannot be delivered.
  • Republic TV has exclusively accessed Harish Salve's legal opinion on the reservation formula.
  • The document shows how any promise of reservations to Patidars is unconstitutional.

The Congress manifesto in Gujarat promises quota for Patidars but now it has been proved that it is 'unconstitutional' and cannot be delivered.

Republic TV has exclusively accessed Supreme Court lawyer Harish Salve's legal opinion on the reservation formula.

The document shows how any promise of reservations to Patidars is unconstitutional.

Salve has said that Reservation in excess of 50% is ‘unconstitutional' and that such a law would be constitutionally invalid.

Thus, the Congress' promise made to the Patidars on the reservation issue holds no grounding.

A political slugfest has erupted ahead of the Gujarat elections, as the Congress is continuously attacking the BJP and vice-versa on several issues. The two-phase Gujarat assembly elections will take place on December 9 and 14, and the results will be out on December 18.
