Practising Centre's zero tolerance terror policy, according to sources, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Friday has issued a four-point action plan to the security forces in Jammu-Kashmir to curb terrorism in the Kashmir Valley.
Here are the instructions issued by the Union Home Minister, as per sources:
• Target commanders of terror outfits in Kashmir Valley.
• Asked forces to ensure that every terrorist who tries to infiltrate gets killed before reaching hinterland.
• Asked Agencies to go to the roots of terror funding.
• Fix a deadline for terror-free Kashmir.
Earlier in the day, in a major victory for the BJP government, the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill 2019 tabled by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has been passed in the Lok Sabha. Slamming the Congress' Opposition to the Bill, Shah gave a befitting answer to the Opposition reminding them of the role played by the Congress in the Jammu and Kashmir issue.
Replying to Congress' opposition to the President's rule in J&K he said that Congress had imposed President's rule majority of the time compared to NDA government.
"As of date article 356 (President's rule) has been imposed 132 times in J&K. Out of which 93 times the Congress government has imposed it. And they (Congress) is now saying that we are trampling democracy. Will these people teach us democracy?" he asked.
Blaming India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for losing Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), he said that had Nehru confided in his then-Home Minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel, then Article 370 would not have been imposed on Kashmir.
"Who did the partition? Partition was a big mistake done by the Congress party. We have lost 1/3 rd of J&K. Who ordered the for ceasefire against the Pakistan army back then? It was then-PM Jawaharlal Nehru who did it and gave that portion(PoK) to Pakistan. You say we don't take people into confidence, but Nehru Ji did it without taking the then Home Minister into confidence. If he had confided with his ministers, then today PoK would be a part of India today and maybe there would be no terrorism. 370 exists only in J&K where Nehruji did the negotiation," he added.
The Home Minister also spoke about the Modi government's various anti-terror policies, the banning of Pakistani channels, the retraction of protection to many Separatists among a few topics while responding to the objection taken to the bill tabled by Shah on Monday.
The Bill, which amends the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004 paves the way for the people living near the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir to get the benefit of reservation in jobs, promotion, and educational institutions on par with those living along the Actual Line of Control (ALoC).
