The TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu, is staging a ‘Dharma Porata Deeksha’ (a day-long protest for justice) at the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in the national capital from 8 am to 8 pm on Monday. Republic TV questioned Chandrababu Naidu on the massive controversy revolving around the derogatory posters which took a cheap slur at the humble origins of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Talking exclusively to Republic TV, he said:
"What I am saying is that generally I won't encourage these things but Narendra Modi is hitting below belt for everybody. You have seen. He is attacking all the leaders left and right. This is also not a good culture. First of all, as a Prime Minister, he has to control himself. He must know how to behave with other leaders then you teach morals to everybody".
When asked about his thoughts on "Mahagathbandhan Vs Modi", he said:
"We are very clear, It's people Vs Modi. It's not Mahagathbandhan or political parties versus Modi. Political parties are representing people's aspirations. Now, around 70% of a representative of people are representative of political parties or fighting against Modi. People are annoyed. They are all demanding 'Go back'. Why? He has to introspect. He misbehaved with everybody. With political leaders, with bureaucrat leaders, with media houses and corporate. At the same time, you are misusing power. You are destroying democracy. You are destroying leadership. This very dangerous for the nation. I have built my leadership over the last 40 years. Modi built his leadership for the last 10-12 years and you want to describe everybody. Is it right? We have built our values over a period of time. It is not one day or two days affair".
Talking about his political journey, he said:
"If you see my 40 years career, I was very disciplined. I was very very technically and legally and everything...I am putting so much self discipline. Why? I wanted to show other that whatever a leader will follow the public will also follow that. That is how I built my character. Today what happened. If you see a company, it takes year to build it and seconds to destroy. That's what Narendra Modi is doing".
Earlier in the day, a massive controversy broke out after derogatory posters which took a cheap slur at the humble origins of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi appeared at the venue - AP Bhawan in New Delhi - where Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is sitting on a day-long dharna and fast.
However, TDP MP Jayadev Galla reacted to those posters seen at the venue of the ongoing protest said:
“We don’t endorse it. It is not correct and it should not be done. It must not have been put by our party people.”
