Controversial leader and MLA from Vadgam, Jignesh Mevani has once again stoked controversy with his latest set of comments, abusing Prime Minister Narendra Narendra Modi and calling him as 'Namak Haram'.
Speaking in a rally, he said, "His namak-harami if anyone has seen it, we have seen it the most in Gujarat. That's why I am apologizing on behalf of Gujarat's 6.5 crore population. We ask for forgiveness not just from Bihar but from country's 130 crore population for sending a piece with a manufacturing defect from Gujarat to Delhi. This captain is a such a namak-haram. You see in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, UP and Bihar, the workers whose blood and sweat has enabled construction of roads in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot and Vadodara."
Earlier this month, a mass exodus was witnessed in Gujarat, with people of UP and Bihar leaving the state fearing their lives. And Mevani raked up his matter during his speech, accusing PM Modi of not taking note of the situation.
"The sons of the soil, workers from UP and Bihar were beaten up. They were hit for 12-15 days but this namak-haram didn't utter a word from his mouth. The Prime Minister is not willing to even appeal in a single line to Gujaratis to stop such violent acts against people of UP and Bihar. He is not willing to utter a single word. That's why recognize this namak-haram. Even this is namak-haram's conspiracy," he added.
This isn't the first time that the Gujarat MLA has attacked PM Modi. Earlier this year, he had mocked the 'surgical strikes' conducted by Indian forces on Pakistan, terming the strike conducted by PM Modi on the country as more lethal.
"Modiji did a big Surgical Strike on the people with demonetisation and GST. He told the farmers of India that he would double their income -- he has done a Surgical Strike on them. He promised jobs to 2 crore youth but didn't provide -- he has done a Surgical Strike on them. He has done a Surgical Strike on the media also by not implementing the Majithia commission report. Modiji's Surgical Strike is dangerous because it's on 1.25 billion people," he had said.
