Ahead of Arvind Kejriwal-led mega rally at the Janta Mantar, West Bengal chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee along with other TMC workers visited the Statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Parliament House on the last of the Budget Session of the Rajya Sabha. Mamata Banerjee and other TMC workers paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at his statue. 

While speaking to reporters over the mega-opposition rally, the TMC supremo said that she prayed to Mahatma Gandhi to protect the people of the nation and also to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the country.

"Every political party has an ideology. With the love for our nation, Gandhiji, Netaji, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekanand are all with us. We play a role in the patriotism for the nation. I came to the Parliament for this reason only, Gandhiji is the symbol of our Constitution. I believe he is the greatest man of the nation. Today on the last day of Parliament, we prayed to Bapu. We prayed to him to remove Modi Babu and protect the nation and unity of the people. I prayed to him," she said while speaking to reporters. 

She also sang few lines from the bhajan 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram' which was popularized by Mahatma Gandhi - 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, Patita Pavan Sitaram, Ishwar Allah Tero Nam, Sabako Sanmati De Bhagawan'

Mamata Banerjee was welcomed in Delhi with huge posters displayed around the national capital in which she was asked to 'smile' because Delhi is the city where 'democracy is alive and kicking'. 

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)  organized a mega rally named "Tanashahi Hatao, Loktantra Bachao" at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Wednesday. AAP Delhi convenor Gopal Rai confirmed that West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, National Conference (NC) leader Farooq Abdullah and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar are scheduled to attend the rally.
