PM Narendra Modi led BJP's membership drive from his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Earlier in the morning, he had unveiled the statue of former Prime Minister and freedom and fighter Lal Bahadur Shastri. He had also participated in the launch of plantation drive in the state which was initiated under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

PM Narendra Modi led BJP's membership drive from his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Earlier in the morning, he had unveiled the statue of former Prime Minister and freedom and fighter Lal Bahadur Shastri. He had also participated in the launch of plantation drive in the state which was initiated under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

The membership drive included a visual clip on how to become a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Watch it in the video above,

Following the video, PM Narendra Modi began his speech with an invocation to Lord Mahadev. 

"From this sacred land of Kashi, I would like to thank every BJP member in the entire India. That the beginning of the membership is happening on the birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee is an auspicious, thing I pay him my respects and bow to him in the hope that we fulfill his vision for the party,"  he said.
