Punjab CM Amarinder Singh Sidhu has prepared a dossier on Navjot Singh Sidhu and will submit it to Rahul Gandhi.
This comes after the former cricketer countered the charges made against him by the state Congress in a letter to the Congress president a while ago, sources said. Sidhu has also not taken charge of his Power Ministry two weeks since being given the portfolio leading the Punjab CM to prepare the dossier against him.
Republic TV posed him the question about the portfolio issue but the Congress leader evaded it.
As seen in the visuals Republic TV asked Sidhu about the purported dossier on him but the Punjab minister simply refused to answer the question and got into his car moved away.
The rift between the Punjab CM and Sidhu came in the open after the Punjab minister's wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu accused Capt Amarinder Singh of not disclosing the real reason from keeping her from contesting in her choice of seat in the Lok Sabha polls. Accusing him of disrespecting women, she had called the Punjab chief minister 'Junior Captain'.Following this, Sidhu had stood by his wife attacking the CM in a veiled attack one day before the polls saying that 'a vote cannot be underestimated and it should be used to blast those who are colluding to backstab the Congress.
Post the Lok Sabha elections where the Congress faced a humiliating defeat, many pointed fingers at Sidhu for his comments against Smriti Irani where he called her a 'cry baby'. his numerous derogatory comments attacking PM Modi and BJP and also to his conduct where it appeared he was toeing the Pakistani line. This led to a few in Punjab Congress questioning Sidhu's role in the party.
On June 6, what may be called as a final nail in the strained relation of Captain and Sidhu in Punjab Congress, Sidhu skipped the cabinet review meeting chaired by CM Captain Amarinder Singh. Hours after skipping the meet, he took to Facebook to say that Punjab Congress has sidelined him and forgot his contribution.
Following this, as per Republic TV newsbreak, Navjot Singh Sidhu was removed from his current ministry - Local Government and Tourism and Cultural Affairs and was given the portfolios of the Power ministry and the New and Renewable Energy Sources ministry.
