In hopes of reviving the old 'mahagathbandhan' in Bihar, RJD leader and former Union Minister, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, on Monday, has expressed his desire that NDA-ally and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar should join forces with RJD in fighting against the BJP.

In an exclusive interview with Republic TV, he said that all non-BJP parties must unite in Bihar to fight them in the state assembly elections, calling it a national movement.

"I definitely feel that all non-BJP people should unite together and I have no qualms with Nitish Kumar or any other as fighting against BJP is not easy. Small parties should unite and make one single party. This should be a national movement," he said.

Talking about the vote share which will be gained if the JD(U) joins RJD, he said that it was not a new political move as Kumar would definitely boost the numbers.

"What new political calculations is there in this? If two out of three (parties) combine then it will be a commendable force. Nitish Kumar will give a big boost to the numbers if he joins," he added.

When asked whether this was an official move currently underway between RJD and JD(U), he said that it was an unspoken wish in everyone's minds. He also referred to the committee which had been formed post-Lok Sabha defeat, which would probably think on these lines.

"This is the wish in the hearts of all people in Bihar, as seen in the elections. The secular vote has been divided. While there has not been any official discussion in the party, there will be a discussion as a committee has been formed post-Lok Sabha defeat. The reasons for the defeat and the measures to improve will be discussed in the report which the committee is working on," he said.

Speaking about the probable Chief Minister candidate he said that those things would be discussed by higher officials adding that the JD(U) political strategist Prashant Kishor was there to conduct such moves only.

"Those things will be decided by other people, we are the ones who are going to fight. The idea has been initiated. After all, Prashant Kishor is there to take care of such meetings only," he added.
