However, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee has cancelled her plan of attending the ceremony after the BJP claimed that the kin of 54 party workers were murdered in political violence in West Bengal.

Other leaders that will not attend the ceremony include Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, DMK chief MK Stalin, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and Mayawati.

Although, Congress President Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, besides former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be attending the swearing-in of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
