Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray was on hand on Wednesday for the trailer release of the upcoming Balasaheb Thackeray biopic, in which the late Shiv Sena founder is portrayed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui .

Speaking right before the trailer was to drop, Uddhav Thackeray was invited on stage to say a few words.

"This picture will be 2 hours long...I have seen the full 52-years picture", he began to applause from the crowd.

He then highlighted how making the film would have been a difficult task: "This must have been a difficult job. Nawaz saab you've worked in many films. If the film is based on a thought, then it's easier I feel. But for an important person who is not from hundreds of years ago, was with us till recently, and one whom we still believe is with us still -- to capture such a person on the silver screen is a difficult job."

Speaking about Sanjay Raut, the Shiv Sena MP who has served as the producer of the film, Uddhav Thackeray said:

"Sanjay ji is a member of our family. This job required someone with grit and also someone who loves Balasaheb. This whole team, which loves Balasaheb and has grit, they've worked very hard to condense the 52-year-long film I've seen into 2 hours."

On his expectations for 'Thackeray', he said:

"I would only want that this film not be just a film... that it be about how to live... like Balasaheb had said "If you want to live, live like a man" -- that message he had given, I hope you would have given that message."

"I pray with all my heart that the Shiva-dhanushya you have picked up... I hope you break all film records, and that not only in the state and in the country, but also worldwide people discuss it."
