The BJP on Tuesday made a stunning charge at West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in the Parliament. Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh said that the TMC chief wants to turn West Bengal into West Bangladesh.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha, he said:
"The chief minister of West Bengal wants to be Prime Minister. No one can become PM by winning just 22 seats. So she thought let's combine Bengal with Bangladesh. Hence, she called Bangla actor to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. He is not an outsider. Rohingyas are not outsiders. Someone from Italy is not an outsider. But if PM Modi, Amit Shah come, then they are outsiders. We talk of Bhagwan Ram as he is Maryada Purshottam. We say Jai Shri Ram to those to do politics, it is not a religious slogan. They respond by saying Jai Bangla, but it is a Bangladeshi slogan. They are bringing everything from Bangladesh, there is a conspiracy to make Bengal to West Bangladesh."
Earlier on Tuesday, CM Mamata Banerjee took aim at the BJP-led central government and said that the country went through a period of 'Super Emergency' in the last five years - during Narendra Modi's first tenure as Prime Minister.
Banerjee, who has been at loggerheads with BJP, did not participate in the recent all-party meetings convened by Prime Minister Modi. She also skipped the swearing-in ceremony of the new government last month and did not attend the June 15 NITI Aayog meeting.
