Moments after the BJP and Shiv Sena confirmed that they will continue being with each other and fight the upcoming Lok Sabha as well as Assembly elections together, PM Narendra Modi took to Twitter to express his happiness and satisfaction over the massive political development.

PM Modi stated that this alliance will help the NDA significantly and the two parties will continue working together for the vision which was inspired by former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.

After months of stand-off, the BJP and Shiv Sena, who have been together since the past 30 years, confirmed that they will let go of their differences and continue working with each other.

This development was confirmed by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis in the presence of his party chief Amit Shah and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in a joint-press briefing.

"Everyone knows that Shiv Sena and BJP has been together for 25 years. We may have differences, but ideologically we are together. For last four and a half years, we have been running the government together. There was popular sentiment that nationalist parties should come together, and we have decided to form an alliance for both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections," Fadnavis said.

The two parties will fight in equal number of seats when it comes to the state elections. As for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the BJP will contest from 25 seats and Shiv Sena will contest from 23 seats.
