On the occasion of World Health Day on Sunday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has claimed that 'Bengal has already achieved Health for all' highlighting the free health care and the multi-specialty hospitals in the state, tweeting:

Focusing on reduced infant an mother mortality rates in the state, she claimed her government's focus has centrally been on 'mother and child.'

Speaking about the recently launched 'Swasthya Sathi' scheme which aimed to provide health insurance cards, covering 7.5 crore people in West Bengal, she posted on Twitter emphasizing how the cards were issued in the woman's name - recognizing her as the head of the family:

Reacting to her posts, many on Twitter have pointed out that Mamata Banerjee had refused to implement the Centre's 'Ayushman Bharat' which was having a huge impact on the overall Indian healthcare system:

In January 2019, after the launch of 'Ayushman Bharat' in September 2018, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Baneerjee had pulled out of the scheme after refusing to contribute the state's share of 40%  to the Ayushman Bharat scheme and demanded the Centre to fund the full amount if  they wanted to run the scheme in the state.
