What is BJP’s #BharatKeMannKiBaat campaign? Here’s all you need to know

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) flagged off a key initiative as part of its campaign for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, in Delhi, on Saturday.

Turning focus on its election manifesto, the party launched the 'Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat - Modi Ke Saath' initiative which entails a 'Sankalp Yatra' programme.

Positing PM Narendra Modi's efforts towards development over the last five years, the campaign for Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat aims at positioning the inclusive growth intention in the government's policies and undertakings in the minds of the electorate and makes a point about how a single party with a mandate can form a stronger government than a coalition of parties. The campaign video extolls the government's achievements.

At its core, the initiative aims to ask the people of the country for their inputs on the BJP's 'Sankalp Patra' manifesto - possibly the largest undertaking of this kind by any government in the world. It urges people to submit their suggestion for a new goal and a vision for the country

For this purpose at least 7,500 BKMKB (Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat) suggestions boxes will be placed across the country, and rath yatras will also ply to get suggestions from the people. Further, views will be sought via a variety of means, such as online via social media, WhatsApp and relevant websites like the Prime Minister's website, offline via slips of paper, and even via a dial-in system by phone.

The suggestion slips for the BMKMB boxes:

BJP president Amit Shah said that at least 10 crore inputs would be sought.

"Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat, Modi ke saath - this programme will be a unique one. The 'Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat, Modi ji ke saath' programme isn't that of the BJP. It is for working towards a new India The elections aren't only to win. For BJP workers, these elections are a celebration of democracy - an opportunity to reach out to the people and present their views as a direction for the country: Amit Shah at 'Sankalp Patra' launch," he said.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who will lead the 'Sankalp Patra' crowdsourcing initiative also detailed how councils would be formed from each state and also in 12 domains, such as for the economy, for urban development, for culture, and others, to cater to specific needs.
