Yogi Adityanath brings up ‘Gotra’ and ‘Janeu’ again, terms people realising it ‘a victory of Sanatan Faith’

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath while speaking in Ayodhya about the Kumbh Mela on Saturday, said that accidental Hindus are now " showing their Gotra and Janeu". He said that people now "remembering their Gotra and Janeu" and that was a victory for the Sanatan ideology.

Religion has come into the forefront in political rhetoric as the Lok Sabha polls are drawing closer.
Last month, a Pushkar temple priest had stated that Rahul Gandhi's Gotra is Dattatreya. He also said that the Gandhis (Rahul Gandhi's family) are Kashmiri Brahmins and are Kauls, and their Gotra is Dattatreya.
The very next day, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh took to Twitter and posted pictures of Rahul Gandhi performing various rituals at a temple in Pushkar, during his visit to Rajasthan on Monday. Moreover, the senior Congress leader also posted pictures of the official documents that states the 'Gotra' of the Gandhi family.

In December, Congress president Rahul Gandhi made a controversial statement saying that PM Narendra Modi does not know Hinduism. He was speaking to Business Community and Professionals in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
"What does Hinduism say? That knowledge is with everybody. PM Modi says he is a Hindu. but he does not understand the basic of Hinduism. What type of Hindu is he?" he said.

Congress leader CP Joshi in November had hit out a classist slur at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leader Uma Bharti while addressing a gathering on Thursday. In a video accessed by Republic TV, the Congress leader could be heard questioning the caste of PM Modi. He said:
People from (unclear) who are present here, does anyone know the caste of Uma Bharti? What is the caste of Ritambhara? In this country if there is anyone who knows about religion it is the Pandits. Intellectuals, Pandits & Brahmins. It is very weird that Uma Bharti who belongs to the lodi samaj is talking about Hindu religion. Sadhvi ji also belongs to a different religion and she's talking about Hindu religion too. Narendra Modi belongs to some other religion and talks about Hinduism. This isn't the brahmins' job. Brahmin don't understand this. In the last 50 years Brahmins have lost their mind.
