Yogi Adityanath issues statement on delay in Ayodhya dispute hearings, Says 'delayed justice sometimes tantamount to injustice'

A day after the Supreme Court delayed hearings in the Ayodhya dispute case by setting the first week of January for the hearing dates to be decided, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has remarked on the development, saying 'delay in justice is tantamount to injustice'. In a series of tweets, Yogi Adityanath has urged the Supreme Court to provide a fast-tracked solution for the decades-old dispute.

In his first Tweet, Yogi Adityanath said, 'The Ayodhya land case is under the consideration of the honourable Supreme Court. Justice given on time is considered to be the most just. Whereas, delay in justice is sometimes tantamount to injustice.

Within a time frame of an hour, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister posted another tweet and said:

'The saints, with full adherence and patience, should indulge themselves in all the worthwhile solutions in the matter that have the potential to bring peace within the nation and build a strong trust towards the Constitutional institutions of the country'.

He also wrote, 'Everyone respects the Judiciary and we adhere to the Constitution. I request the Court to give a fast-tracked solution in the Ayodhya land matter'.

Earlier on Monday, within hours of the developments in the Supreme Court, leaders from the VHP demanded that the Centre bring an ordinance for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The Shiv Sena and the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) also joined the VHP's Mandir call and urged the Centre to bring an ordinance so that the disputed land should be given for the creation of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

“The place should be given for the construction of Ram Mandir. The Government must bring an ordinance on this, and if there is a delay from judiciary's side, then RSS is with the saints in their decision," RSS leader Arun Kumar had said.

On the other hand, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that the court has nothing to do with the Ayodhya matter and that the Ram Mandir can only be built in Ayodhya. 

"We have been saying that the court has nothing to do with the Ayodhya matter. Ram Mandir cannot be made in Karachi or Pakistan. Ram Mandir can only be built in Ayodhya. And Shiv Sena wants Ram Mandir to be built in Ayodhya only. No political party should make the creation of Ram Mandir an issue and that is why the centre should bring an ordinance in the matter,” Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said. Sena party chief Uddhav Thackeray will be visiting Ayodhya on November 25.
