After Union Minister Piyush Goyal presents the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) sixth and final budget, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that 'this budget is for new India and is meant for all Indians'. In a huge sigh of relief to middle-class, Modi govt has announced big changes in income tax slab. Addressing the same, Prime Minister said:

"Friends, the schemes of our government has created a positive impact on every citizen of this country. 50 crore poor has benefitted from Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana have given benefit to 21 crore people. 9 crore people have been benifitted through Swachh Bharat mission. More than 6 crore families are able to get a gas connection due to Ujawala Yogana. 1.5 crore people now have their own houses after the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In this budget, 12 crore farmers, 3 crore Middle-class families and 30-40 crores labours will get the direct benefit. Due to the efforts of the government, poverty is rapidly decreasing. Lakhs and crores of people are entering into neo-middle and middle class".

Talking about the benefits that the poor, middle class and labour class will avail from Budget 2019, Prime Minister Modi said:

"A large number of people are on the path to fulfil their dreams and they are also supporting the government. In this time, the government is showing support to these people. I congratulate the middle class for the tax benefit. It's the generosity and honesty of middle class and upper middle class which provides a tax to the nation through which schemes are formulated and there is the welfare of the poor. There was always the demand to exempt those, with annual income upto Rs 5 Lakh, from taxation. Our govt fulfilled this. For farmers, there have been several schemes by different governments from time to time, but only 2-3 crore farmers were included under these schemes. But now Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme will benefit over 12 crore farmers who own 5 acres or less than 5 acres of land".

"The unorganized labour force, about 40 crore people, haven’t ever received any help from previous governments. The beneficiaries will get assured monthly pension after reaching the age of 60 years now. Government identified nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes to include them in social welfare schemes by setting a welfare board as we want to provide benefit to people standing at last position in the queue. It is essential to ensure the growth and development to reach all sections of society. This budget will encourage 130 crore people. I congratulate Arun Jaitley, Piyush Goyal and their team for the Budget", he added.
