12 Cops Injured in Nashik Van Crash While Heading to CM Shinde's Event

Nashik: Twelve policemen were injured, one of them seriously, when their van collided with a truck in Nashik district, Maharashtra , on Friday, according to an official.
The accident occurred at Rahud Ghat on the Mumbai-Agra national highway in Chandwad taluka.
The official stated that the twelve Nashik Rural policemen were en route to Malegaon for security duty at an event attended by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar . Their van struck the truck from behind, resulting in injuries to all twelve personnel, with one in critical condition.
"The personnel with serious injuries was shifted to Nashik, while the others with minor wounds were treated at Chandwad sub-district hospital. The truck driver fled from the spot and he has been booked. Further probe is underway," the official said.
Incidentally, Shinde, Fadnavis and Pawar did not attend the Malegaon event, which was organised to dedicate the first phase of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Agriculture Science Complex in Malegaon's Kashti area. The CM addressed the gathering through phone call.
