15-year-Old Boy Dies After Fake Doctor Performs YouTube-Guided Surgery
The alleged fake doctor began the surgery without any consent, reportedly using YouTube videos on his mobile phone as his only guide.
Bihar : In Bihar ’s Saran district, a 15-year-old boy tragically died following a botched gall bladder stone removal surgery performed by an alleged fake doctor. The incident occurred at a Madhaura clinic operated by Ajit Kumar Puri, who is now on the run.
On Friday night, the teenager was admitted to Puri’s clinic by his family, complaining of vomiting and severe stomach pain. According to family members, Puri began the surgery without their consent or knowledge, allegedly using YouTube videos on his mobile phone as his only guide.
As the operation progressed, the boy's condition worsened. When the family raised concerns, Puri reportedly responded dismissively, “Am I the doctor here or you?” Eventually, Puri attempted to transfer the boy to a hospital in Patna, but the teenager succumbed to his injuries en route. Puri fled the scene, leaving the boy’s body behind.
The family has filed a complaint with the local police, accusing Puri of negligence and malpractice.
They allege that he was neither qualified nor experienced and that his unprofessional conduct directly led to the boy’s death. A case has been registered against Puri and his clinic staff, and police are conducting raids to apprehend the accused.
The boy’s body has been sent for a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death.
