Record 92 MPs suspended from Parliament in a single day over Lok Sabha terror attack

New Delhi: In a big development, 33 more Lok Sabha MPs, including Leader of Congress Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, were suspended on Tuesday for disrupting the proceedings of the Lower House. Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day as several Opposition MPs got up from their seats and walked towards the well of the House to protest against the security breach that happened last week. Three Congress MPs, including Abdul Khalid, Vijay Vasanth and K Jeyakumar, were sent to Privilege Committee for approaching the Speaker. DMK's Dayanidhi Maran, TMC's Saugata Roy and Shatabdi Roy were among the 16 MPs who were suspended today. 

As many as 33 Lok Sabha MPs were suspended today for the rest of the Winter Session. 45 MPs have been suspended from Rajya Sabha. 

Earlier in the day, Speaker Om Birla asked the opposition MPs not to politicise the Lok Sabha attack. After suspension, Chowdhury lashed out at Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the Parliament security breach. Demanding a statement from him at the floor of the House, Chowdhury asked for all the suspended MPs to be reinstated.
