23-year-old model from Punjab raped in Shimla on pretext of shooting video

Chandigarh: In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old model from Punjab was raped in Shimla on the pretext of shooting a video. The police have registered a case against the culprit. The accused has been identified as Jagtar Singh Sandhu, who hails from Ludhiana in Punjab.

According to the complainant, the victim, who is a resident of Jalandhar in Punjab, was taken to Shimla on December 22 by accused. She added in her complaint that the accused took her to Shimla on the pretext of shooting. Her stay was arranged in a hotel in Shimla where she was raped by the accused. The victim filed the complaint at the women police station of Shimla.

Following the complaint, the police have registered the case against Jagtar Singh Sandhu under Section 376 and 506 of the IPC.

“Following the complaint the police have registered the case against the accused. Further police will arrest and launch the investigation as the case was registered under Sections 376 and 506 of IPC”, the SHO of Women Police station Jyoti told Republic.
