Mathura: Three police officers have been suspended from Refinery police station in Mathura after a viral video surfaced showing Yogesh, a sharpshooter from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, making a statement while in police custody to local media.

In his statement to media, Yogesh claimed that his encounter in Mathura, which led to his arrest, was staged. He also commented on the killing of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddiqui, who was shot dead in Mumbai.

After the video circualated widely, Sub-inspector Ramsanehi, head constable Vipin, and constable Sanjay, all stationed at the Refinery police station, were suspended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shailesh Pandey. Authorities have launched an internal investigation into the matter, focusing on how Yogesh was able to interact with media personnel while in custody.

Yogesh, who is involved in a high-profile murder case in Delhi, was apprehended in a joint operation between Delhi Police’s Special Cell and Mathura Police. He has been linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi-Hashim Baba gang and was arrested in connection with the murder of Nadir Shah, a 35-year-old gym owner who was shot in broad daylight in South Delhi on September 12.

SSP Mathura Shailesh Pandey, while addressing the media, confirmed that Yogesh had been injured during an encounter before his arrest. "In a joint operation, we apprehended Yogesh, who is known to have ties with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He is a wanted criminal in several cases, including the murder of a gym owner in Delhi," Pandey said.
