8 Killed After Vehicle Falls Into Gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag

Eight people including 5 children were killed in road accident in Anantnag after the vehicle they were travelling skidded off into gorge.

Anantnag: In a tragic incident, eight people were killed after a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road at the Sinthan-Kokernag route in Anantnag on Saturday.

The eight deceased victims also included 5 children. 

According to officials, Imtiyaz Ahmad, a policeman, along with his five children and two women, was onboard when they met with an accident on the Kishtwar-Anantnag road at the Arashan spot. Subsequently, the vehicle fell into the gorge. 

“Imtiyaz, the deceased, was coming back to his home in Madwa Kishtwar from Kishtwar where he was posted,” an official said. 

This is a breaking story and further details are awaited. 

Earlier three tourists from Bengaluru lost their lives and another was critically injured when their vehicle plunged into a deep gorge on Zojila Pass in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday, police said.
