Mumbai: Mumbai Police, on Tuesday, beefed up the security outside actor Salman Khan's residence 'Galaxy Apartments' in Bandstand in the aftermath of the killing of NCP ( Ajit Pawar faction) senior leader Baba Siddique and alleged threats from Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Security Outside Actor's Panvel Farmhouse
Besides, Mumbai Police has also deployed an escort vehicle to follow the Khan's official car, with the Special Reserve Police Force (SRPF) stationed outside his Bandra as well as Panvel residences.
Over 60 Officers Stationed in Civil Clothes
Over 60 officers in civil clothes are stationed around Bandstand and near Galaxy Apartments, who are working around the clock to monitor any suspicious activity. These officers follow a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to maintain constant vigilance.

Besides, cops have also installed AI-enabled high-resolution
CCTV cameras equipped with facial recognition, which can detect individuals who pass by multiple times thereby raising an alert if the same face is captured more than three times, suggesting potential reconnaissance.
Shooters Fire Outside Khan's Residence
The increased police presence also came after an attack in April, when shooters affiliated with the Bishnoi gang attempted to target Khan outside his residence, despite existing security measures.

The area surrounding Galaxy Apartments now resembles a police outpost, with security checkpoints established at various locations and officers strategically positioned.
Several cops including female officers are stationed outside the building, with police vans and jeeps regularly reporting to the Bandra Police and the Protection Branch.
Khan Provided With Y-Plus Security Cover Post Siddique's Murder
Khan has been provided with a Y-plus security cover post Siddique's murder. The U-plus cover includes a team of eight to 10 armed policemen, some of whom travel with him.

Siddique (66), a former Maharashtra minister who joined the NCP in February after quitting the Congress , was waylaid by three men at Kher Nagar in Mumbai's Bandra area, just outside his son and Congress MLA Zeeshan Siddique's office, and shot dead on Saturday night.
