Mumbai: On the evening of Dussehra, NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot at, outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office and later, succumbed to his injuries. Days after Baba's murder, an eyewitness, who was also shot at, during the firing has revealed the shocking turn of events.
‘Suddenly There Was a Stampede… Blood Was Coming Out of My Leg’
Baba Siddique was not the only one who was shot at, on Dussehra; Raj Kanojia, a tailor by profession was also shot on the leg. An eyewitness in the Baba Siddique Murder Case, 22-year-old Raj Kanojia was shot at, the bullet hit his leg and he was admitted to the Bhabha Hospital in Bandra.
Raj Kanojia has revealed the shocking turn of events on the fateful day of Baba Siddique's murder. The eyewitness said that he had finished work at 5:00 pm and had come to visit the temple in that area. He was drinking juice when suddenly there was a stampede and he felt that something had happened to his leg. When he looked, blood was coming out of his leg; at first Raj thought that he got hit by a firecracker but when some people were present there took Raj inside the temple, he came to know he was shot.
‘When Firing Happened…’: Another Eyewitness Account in Baba Siddique Murder Case
Hours after Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai, an eyewitness narrated chilling details of the exact moment when assailants opened fire at the NCP leader when he was bursting crackers. Chatrapal Saroj, who was present nearby when Baba Siddique was shot at said, "When firing happened, there was a stampede, he could not understand what happened. At first he thought that firecrackers were being burst, but when firing happened, there was chaos." He further said, "Police was also present here, still firing happened."

Baba Siddique, according to police sources, was shot by three masked assailants outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui's office near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar, Bandra East, Mumbai on Saturday evening. The former state minister was admitted to Lilavati Hospital but couldn't survive, a police official said. Three accused in the case have been arrested, a multi-state probe is underway and among other angles, the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang angle is being probed with more intensity.
