Bengaluru: The Karnataka capital is infamous for its long traffic jams and the Bengaluru Traffic Police issues traffic advisories from time to time, to help locals avoid these long jams. A traffic advisory has been issued by Bengaluru Police for the Eid-Ul-Milad procession scheduled for September 16. Check the routes to avoid, diversions announced and other details.
Bengaluru Traffic Advisory Issued for September 16
As mentioned earlier, a traffic advisory has been issued by the Bengaluru Traffic Police, for September 16, on account of Eid-Ul-Milad. A major gathering is expected to take place at the YMCA Ground on Nrupathunga Road for the Eid-Ul-Milad procession and therefore to avoid major traffic snarls, the Bengaluru Police has highlighted routes of the procession, roads that must be avoided and the diversions to escape long traffic jams.

As per the Bengaluru Traffic Police, all processions for Eid-Ul-Milad will end at the YMCA Ground; take a look at the routes that are expected to be used for the processions….
- Shivajinagar Cantonment from JC Nagar Dargah
- Old Bus Stand to Sannamanikere
- Rajagopalnagar Main Road to Peenya 2nd Stage
- Bellahalli Cross to Nagawara Signal
- South End Circle to RV Road near Lalbagh West Gate Circle
- Bendre Junction to Obalappa Garden Junction
- Mahalingeshwara Layout to Adugodi
- Geeta Junction to South End Circle
Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: Restrictions, Alternative Routes
According to the traffic advisory issued by the Bengaluru Police, take a look at the road and parking restrictions along with the alternative routes that you must use.
Road and Parking Restrictions:
- If you're travelling to Tannery Road from Nethaji Junction via Pottery Circle, know that this route is closed.
- Temporarily, Masque Junction to MM Road Junction will be one-way.
- Complete restriction has been announced for vehicles travelling to Haines Junction from Nethaji Junction.
- Commuters towards Pottery Circle from Nagawara Junction will have to face partial restrictions.
- Parking is banned on Nrupathunga Road, KG Road, NR Road and various other key locations.
Alternative Routes to Follow:
- Those travelling on Nrupathunga Road from KR Circle, must be diverted to Siddalingaiah Circle through Cubbon Park or turn right at the Central Library and go against the traffic towards Hudson Circle.
- RRMR Road, Hudson Circle and Police Corner must be used by those heading to KG Road from Richmond Road.
- Those travelling from JC Road, must move towards Police Corner and KG Road - alternative routes to Richmond Circle and Residency Road via PK Lane and OTC Road.
- Traffic is allowed only towards Siddalingaiah Circle; entry to Cubbon Park from Hudson Circle is restricted.
- Diversion to Sirsi Circle and Chamarajpet must be taken by those travelling to YMCA from Mysore Road
- Clarence Railway Overbridge and Lingarajapura Flyover may be used by those going to Tannery Road from Nethaji Circle.
- To reach Haines Junction from Masque Junction, vehicles must divert via Coles and Sanders Roads.
- Hennur Junction and Siddappareddy Junction must be used by those travelling to Shivajinagar from Thandisandra.
- Diversions via Spenser Road and Coles Road must be taken by those travelling from Shivajinagar to Nagawara.
- If you're travelling via KB Sandra from RT Nagar, turn left at Veerannapalya Junction towards Nagawara.
