New Delhi: An Air India Express flight, en route Muscat has made an emergency landing at the Thiruvananthapuram Airport today; all passengers and crew members are safe.
Air India Express Flight Makes Emergency Landing Due to Smoke
An Air India Express flight heading to Muscat made an emergency landing at Thiruvananthapuram airport after suspected smoke was observed during the take-off initiation on Friday morning, sources from the airline and the airport said.
As per the latest update, all 142 passengers and crew members onboard are safe and were offloaded for inspection.
Alternative Aircraft Arranged, Airline Issues Statement
An Air India Express spokesperson said that an alternative aircraft has been arranged for the onward journey of its "guests."
An investigation will be conducted to determine the exact nature of the issue, he said.
"We regret the inconvenience while prioritising safety in every aspect of our operations," he added in a statement.
