Kolkata: West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose on Sunday directed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to convene an emergency cabinet meeting in response to escalating public demands for the resignation of Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal. This move comes amid widespread outrage following the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital.
TMC MP Jawhar Sircar’s Resignation
Earlier today, Jawhar Sircar, the Rajya Sabha MP from Trinamool Congress ( TMC ) announced that he is resigning from Rajya Sabha; not only this, the TMC MP has also written an open letter to CM Mamata, turning on her, demanding justice for Abhaya, the trainee doctor who was brutally raped and murdered in the seminar room of Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
The Rajya Sabha MP has also revealed in the letter how the Mamata government was involved in corruption and a certain section of the party's leaders were also involved in strong-arm tactics. Jawhar Sircar's letter read, “I get amazed to see that several elected panchayat and municipal leaders have acquired big properties and move around in expensive vehicles. This hurts not only me, but the people of West Bengal.”
Mega Protest Day In Kolkata
Kolkata witnessed a massive protest day on Sunday as people from all walks of life including locals, medics, politcians, clay modellers, rickshaw pullers among others displayed their agitation against the Mamata Banerjee -led TMC government, in wake of brutal rape and murder of trainee doctor.
People from all walks of life - former students of several educational institutions, clay modellers, rickshaw pullers and junior doctors – separately hit the streets of Kolkata.
Shocking Discrepancies in Abhaya's Postmortem Report
Abhaya's parents had alleged that their daughter's body was cremated in a rush and the postmortem was also done rather quickly. In a latest development, some shocking details have been revealed in the autopsy report submitted to the top court, which hints at the fact that the victim's body was ‘brought’ into the hospital from somewhere outside.
Abhaya ‘Brought’ Dead to RG Kar: Autopsy Report
RBangla reports suggest that according to the autopsy report submitted to the Supreme Court, at 12:44, Abhaya was ‘brought’ to RG Kar Hospital.
The report clearly mentions the word ‘brought'. 'Abhaya' was on duty for 36 hours continuously and so what does the report been by the world 'brought into RG Kar'.
Hinting at foul play, the postmortem report poses the questions -
- Is the seminar hall outside the RG Kar?
- Was 'Abhaya' taken out after her death?
Footprints of Abhaya, Blood Stains Found in RG Kar Rooms After 3D Mapping
As per RBangla, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has done a 3D mapping of three rooms of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, where the heinous Kolkata Rape and Murder Case had taken place. The 3D mapping of the rooms has been done using two types of chemicals - Luminol and Hydrogen Peroxide.
Following the 3D mapping by CBI in the Kolkata Rape and Murder Case, it has been revealed that footprints of several suspects have been found in the rooms in question. These footprints include that of Abhaya also, the trainee doctor who was raped and murdered in the seminar room of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
Along with the footprints of Abhaya, blood stains have also been found. The CBI is continuing with its investigation as protests across the country and abroad continue, seeking Justice for Abhaya.
