New Delhi: Atishi, who will step into the shoes of his ‘guru’ and ‘elder brother’ Arvind Kejriwal as the Chief Minister of Delhi, will take oath on September 21, along with her cabinet. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released a list of ministers who will take oath with Atishi on Sept 21.
Delhi Cabinet: List of Ministers to Take Oath with Atishi on Sept 21
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released a list of ministers that will be taking oath with Atishi, as part of the Delhi Cabinet. The names of five ministers are out but it hasn't yet been specified what portfolios they will hold.
- Mukesh Ahlawat is a new face who will be a fresh addition to the Cabinet.
- Gopal Rai, who was working as the Minister for Environment, Forest & Wildlife, Development and General Administratio, has been retained.
- Kailash Gehlot, Transport & Environment minister for Delhi has also been retained.
- Saurabh Bharadwaj, Delhi's Minister of Health, Urban development and Water will also be part of the new cabinet.
- Imran Hussain, who has also been retained, is the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies and Election in Delhi.
Ahlawat, MLA from Delhi's Sultanpur Majra, has been inducted to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of social welfare minister Raaj Kumar Anand. Anand resigned from the Kejriwal government and quit the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in April.
Seventh Member of Delhi Cabinet Yet to be Announced
The Council of Ministers of the Delhi government has seven members, including the chief minister. The tenure of the new chief minister and the new entrant will be brief as Delhi assembly polls are due in February next year. The name of the seventh member is yet to be announced.
Atishi to Take Oath as Delhi CM on September 21
Delhi Chief Minister-designate Atishi and her cabinet will take the oath of office on September 21, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said on Thursday. The ruling party had initially decided that only Atishi would be sworn in, however, it was later determined that her council of ministers would also take the oath.
