25th Kargil Vijay Diwas: PM Backs Agnipath Scheme, Slams Opposition for Misleading Youth | LIVE

On Kargil Vijay Diwas, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav said, “On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, as per PM Modi’s vision, Madhya Pradesh government has decided to give Agniveers, reservation in the recruitment of Police and Armed forces.” 

Today, 25 years have passed since the Kargil War, and the country is celebrating Kargil Vijay Diwas in memory of the great martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice and showed bravery to win this difficult war for India. In this war, many young army officers lost their lives, one of whom was Captain Saurabh Kalia. 25 years ago, Captain Saurabh Kalia was the first to be martyred in the Kargil War. He and his five fellow soldiers were captured by the Pakistani army and subjected to brutal torture for 22 days before being killed. At the time of the war, Saurabh Kalia was just 22 years old. Kargil Vijay Diwas: Story of valour and sacrifice

Kargil war hero Capt Amit Bhardwaj’s family while speaking to Republic World on his sacrifice said, “God had sent him for something great.” 

While speaking to Republic World on Kargil Vijay Diwas, the war hero Naik Digendra Kumar shared how he had destroyed an enemy bunker with a grenade marking the turning point in the war.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Made a big announcement for the dependents of the martyrs on 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas.  Dhami increased amount of government assistance given to dependents of the martyrs. 

On 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas, It became opposition versus PM Modi on Agniveer as PM Modi took a dig on opposition for misleading the youth on Agniveer.

On the Agniveer scheme, Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad says, "I am proud to say that our army has a glorious history... but it is unfortunate that the BJP government has made the arrangement of Agniwari scheme... There cannot be a greater insult to the army than this. When the INDIA alliance government comes, we will end this scheme in 24 hours and do general recruitment ..."

Lok Sabha on Friday paid tributes to the armed forces on Kargil Vijay Diwas that marks India's victory over Pakistan in the 1999 war. Speaker Om Birla recalled the bravery shown by the soldiers despite the tough conditions during the war and paid tributes to their efforts in ensuring the unity of the country.

Unfortunately, some people have made such a sensitive issue related to national security a subject of politics. These are the same people who weakened our Army by committing scams worth thousands of crores in the Army..."
