Haryana CM slams Cong over 'kharchi-parchi', assures youth to give jobs on merit
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday attacked the Congress, saying some of its leaders are talking about the "kharchi-parchi" (corruption-favouritism) system in government jobs which was "prevalent" during its regime.
He, however, asserted that his government's first and last priority is to provide jobs on merit basis.
In a message for the state's youth which he posted on X, Saini wrote that for the past few days, "Congress candidates and Bhupinder Singh Hooda supporters are trading your future in the name of parchi-kharchi".
"I feel sad and angry at their mentality," said Saini who was apparently referring to two purported audio clips of Congress' Neeraj Sharma and Shamsher Singh Gogi, legislators from Faridabad NIT and Assandh segments in the outgoing assembly.
BJP MP Anurag Thakur, a few days ago, had played these two clips in a poll rally.
In one clip, the Faridabad NIT MLA was heard saying that former chief minister Bhupinder Hooda (if Congress comes to power) will give two lakh jobs and he (Neeraj) will get quota of 2,000 jobs and if people of his constituency make him victorious, he will recommend one job per 50 votes he gets, Thakur had said referring to the clip.
Thakur had played another clip, and said Gogi was heard saying "when Assandh will have a share in government (if Congress comes to power), we will also make our relatives happy and first we will fill coffers of our homes".

Jharkhand will progress rapidly if BJP voted to power: Madhya Pradesh CM
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday said Jharkhand will progress at double the speed if the BJP is voted to power.
Speaking at BJP’s Parivartan Yatra at Barkatha in Hazaribag district, Yadav highlighted widespread corruption in the state. "Rs 350 crore was recovered from a property linked to a Congress leader, yet the JMM and Congress have nothing to say about it," he remarked.
Yadav also alleged that Chief Minister Hemant Soren, upon his release from jail, could not resist the lure of power. "The public is aware of the truth and will not be misled by him," he added, predicting that voters would deliver a strong response to the JMM-led alliance in the upcoming assembly elections.
He emphasised that many development projects are underway nationwide under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. "If the BJP forms the government in Jharkhand, a new era of development will begin here," Yadav asserted.

Our disunity led to destruction of Ram temple by invaders: CM Adityanath
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday reiterated his "batenge toh katenge" remark, saying it was disunity which led to the "invaders destroying the Ram temple" in Ayodhya.
"Ayodhya Dham is now flourishing. The grand temple of Lord Ram Lalla has been built, but we must ask why we had to wait 500 years for this moment," Adityanath said at an event in Mirzapur.
During the programme, the chief minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 127 development projects worth Rs 765 crore in the Gopalpur area of Mirzapur, according to an official statement.
"Why did invaders destroy the magnificent temple of Lord Ram Lalla and impose a structure symbolising slavery? The answer lies in our disunity," the release quoted him as saying.
"Hum bate the, toh kate the (when divided, we got cup up)," he said, referring to the Ayodhya dispute and urging people to stay united and together move forward in an "atmosphere of development and security." Earlier, Adityanath had made the remark in reference to the violence in Bangladesh after the fall of Shekh Hasina-led government and alleged atrocities against Hindus.
"Batenge toh katenge (if divided, we will be cut up)," he had said during an inauguration event in Agra on August 26 and urged people to stay united, saying the mistakes in Bangladesh should not happen in India.
