Three people were arrested in connection with fire accident that took place at a temple in nearby Neeleswaram, police said on Tuesday. The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday rejected Congress allegations about any irregularities in Haryana elections as baseless, misplaced, and devoid of facts.

The dearness allowance (DA) of government employees in Uttarakhand was increased on Tuesday from 50 per cent to 53 per cent per month. All regular and full-time employees of the state government and officials associated with the UGC can avail of the increased DA with retrospective effect from July 1, 2024, according to an official statement.
The arrears of dearness allowance from July 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024 will be paid in cash, it said. The allowance will be added to the regular salary from October 1, 2024.

Around 19 Maoists were arrested by security forces in operations across Chhattisgarh 's Sukma district, 3 of them carrying bounty, 14 Maoists were arrested from the Jagargunda police station area, while five were caught in the Bhejji police station limits on Sunday, a police official said.

The Mumbai police have banned flying drones, remote-controlled microlight aircraft, paragliders and hot air balloons for a month, an official said on Tuesday. Police on Monday issued a prohibitory order under section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and it will be in force from October 31 till November 29, an official said.

CPI(M) leader P P Divya, accused in the Kannur Additional District Magistrate Naveen Babu suicide case, was taken into custody on Tuesday by the Kerala police, hours after a court rejected her anticipatory bail plea.
"She has been taken into custody," Kannur city police commissioner told reporters here.
Divya has been charged with abetment to suicide in the case.
