The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has announced the implementation of GRAP-II (Graded Response Action Plan) in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) starting from 8:00 A.M. on October 22, 2024. This decision aims to address the alarming deterioration of air quality in the region.

In a statement released on Monday, the CAQM noted that the Sub-Committee determined the need for urgent action due to the prevailing very poor air quality levels. The order mandates that all relevant agencies in the NCR enforce measures outlined under Stage II of the GRAP, in addition to the existing Stage I actions currently in place.

GRAP-II includes a series of measures designed to mitigate pollution, such as restricting construction activities, implementing stricter emissions standards for vehicles, and promoting public transport.
