BREAKING: Two Terrorists Killed in J&K's Kulgam Encounter, Bodies Recovered
Srinagar: Two Terrorists were Killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam after encounter broke out between them and security forces, on the wee hours of Saturday.
After heavy exchange of fire, two of the trapped terrorists were gunned down by the forces and their dead bodies were Recovered.
Four Army personnel and a policeman sustained injuries in an encounter with terrorists in Adigam village in Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir. It is believed that two-three terrorists are likely trapped in the area.
The ongoing anti-terror operation was being carried out by Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army and the CRPF. The injured ASP has been identified as Mumtaz Ali Bhatti who sustained injuries to right arm and left leg.
The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists. As the forces closed in on the suspected location, the terrorists opened fire, leading to a gunfight.
Kashmir Zone police tweeted, "Encounter has started at Adigam Devsar area of Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow." Meanwhile, additional reinforcements have been called in to ensure terrorists don’t flee.
