Bus Rams Two Motorbikes After Their Head-On Collision in Chhattisgarh, 3 Dead
2 bikes were rammed by a bus after their collision in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district, during which 3 people were killed and 2 others were injured.

Raipur: In a major road accident due to the collision between two motorbikes, which were later run over by a bus, at least three people, including a married couple, were killed in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district on Wednesday. The incident took place near Mehandi Village, when the two motorcycles collided with each other and immediately were rammed by a private bus on Wednesday afternoon. During the incident, two daughters of the deceased couple also sustained severe injuries.
On information, the local police rushed to the spot and shifted the victims to a nearby hospital, where three of them were declared dead. The accident occurred under the jurisdiction of Sheorinarayan police station limits, following which a case was registered at the police station and legal action was initiated.
According to the police, the deceased were identified as Mannu Nayak, his wife Uma Devi, both residents of Deradih (Katgi) village, and another biker Suraj Yadav, a resident of Rahaud Village. The deceased couple along with their two daughters were reportedly heading to Deradih Village from Pamgarh, Suraj Yadav, coming from the opposite direction collided head-on leading to the fatal injuries to the three.
Meanwhile, as the two bikes collided and fell on the road, a private bus rammed into them. Nayak, his wife Uma Devi and Yadav died on the spot, while the couple's daughters were injured in the crash, the official added.
The injured sisters were rushed to a community health centre in Pamgarh and later shifted to Bilaspur city for better treatment, he added.
On the other hand, the bus driver managed to flee the spot. The police are looking out for him.
After the accident, local residents staged a road blockade for three four hours demanding compensation for the victims. Later, they were pacified by the police and the district administration, the official added.
Further legal action into the matter is being taken.
