12 hospitalised after a chlorine gas leaks at factory in Madhya Pradesh's Anuppur district
Anuppur: In Madhya Pradesh 's Anuppur district, at least twelve people were hospitalised after chlorine gas leaked at a factory of Orient Paper Mill (OPM) on Saturday. A senior police official of Anuppur stated that the chlorine gas leak was noticed at around 8 pm, when the people started complaining of irritation in their eyes. The concerned authorities and the district administration are at the spot to ensure rescue operation.
According to the officials, the chlorine gas leak incident at the factory located at Amlai was noticed at around 8 pm.
District Collector (DC) Harshal Pancholi in a post on X stated that the leakage was immediately stopped by the management. However, about 20 people complained of irritation in the eyes following the chlorine leak.
A district administration team reached the spot and admitted 12 people to the Shahdol Medical College hospital, the collector added.
The condition of all the victims is claimed to be stable.
The district officials are monitoring the situation in the area near the factory.
