Noida: The Noida police on Monday claimed to have cracked a case of gangrape with a 26-year-old woman, by arresting three accused in the case. The accused have been identified as Rajkumar, Aazad and Vikas, who have been remanded to judicial custody.

Police sources said that the alleged gang rape took place near a shopping mall a few days ago. The complainant had approached the local police on December 30 after she faced repeated harassment and blackmailing by the accused.

Based on her complaint, a case was registered at Sector 39 police station and investigation was initiated. Following the inquiry, the police nabbed the three accused.

Police have said that two other suspects in the case, which also includes a local strongman, are still at large. The police team is conducting raids to trace both the accused.

The absconding suspects have been identified as Ravi and Mehmi. Police asserted that efforts are underway to arrest both of them.

During the inquiry, it was found that the complainant had not immediately reported the incident to the police owing to the fear that the perpetrators were local strong men.
