Woman stones her husband to death over drinking habits in Nagpur

Nagpur: Miffed with drinking habits, a 40-year-old woman stones her husband to death in Maharashtra’s Nagpur district. The woman, after killing her husband, went to the local police station and surrendered herself.

A senior police official identified the accused woman as Aruna Patil, who confessed to the crime saying that she was fed up with her husband’s drinking habits. The deceased has been identified as Anand Bhaduji Patil.

According to the police official, the accused woman, a resident of Awandhi village within the limits of New Kamptee police station, said her husband Anand Bhaduji Patil often demanded money from her for alcohol, which led to fight and scuffle among the couple.

On Saturday night as well, the couple had a heated argument after Anand asked for money to buy liquor. After Aruna refused to give him money, Anand abused her and went off to sleep.

Following the incident, Aruna picked up a stone and smashed Anand’s head with a stone leading to his death. After killing her husband, she surrendered herself before the police on Sunday morning.

Further legal action into the matter is being taken.
