New Delhi: The Delhi Police have arrested three individuals linked to a cow-slaughtering gang operating in the Delhi-NCR region, according to reports. The authorities announced the successful dismantling of this gang's module, shedding further light on their concerning activities.

"Delhi Police Joint Team of AATS/NED and PS Karawal Nagar busted a cow-slaughtering gang of Sambhal (UP) active in Delhi-NCR and solved the cow-slaughtering case, resulting in the arrest of three accused," the police said.

The apprehended suspects, identified as Wajhat alias Ajju (32), Jahane Alam alias Jahna (30), and Sajid alias Sadva (28), all residents of UP's Amroha district, were allegedly involved in crimes related to cow slaughtering. The arrest was the outcome of a joint effort by the Delhi Police's Anti Auto Theft Squad/Northeast District (AATS/NED) and the Karawal Nagar Police Station.

A distress call to the Karawal Nagar police station on December 24 reported the discovery of severed cow heads and other body parts near Janki Panchal Vihar, Karawal Nagar, Delhi. Following this report, the Delhi Police took action.

According to North East Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Joy Tirkey, a PCR call was received in Karawal Nagar police station on December 24, informing them of severed cow heads and other parts found near Janki Panchal Vihar, Karawal Nagar, Delhi."

Consequently, a case under Section 429 and 424(4) of the IPC and Section 12 of the Prevention of Cruelty Against Animals Act was registered at Karawal Nagar Police Station, and an investigation was subsequently initiated, as per the DCP. The investigation, involving the analysis of several CCTV footage segments, revealed a 'Honda City' car involved in the incident. Tracing the car's route, the police discovered the three individuals exiting the vehicle near Seemapuri Depot, Delhi. Through gathered intelligence, the police located and apprehended the suspects at their rented accommodation in Old Mustafabad, Delhi.

During interrogation, the alleged culprits confessed to their involvement in the crime. They disclosed the procurement of 'Xylaxin' injections, used to render cows unconscious, from a chemist in Jafrabad. Additionally, the suspects admitted to lifting stray cows from various parts of Delhi-NCR.

The police recovered 17 syringes and 34 needles from the possession of the accused. Investigations also revealed their past involvement in over 15 cow slaughtering cases registered in Nagli (UP), Shalimar Bagh, and Gokulpuri. Authorities are verifying their involvement in other locations.

These three accused persons have been found to be dreaded criminals, previously involved in more than 15 cow slaughtering cases registered in Nagli (UP), Shalimar Bagh, and Gokulpuri, while other locations are still being verified, according to the police statement.
