New Delhi: Traffic movement in parts of southwest Delhi will be affected as Old Kakrola Road undergoes maintenance from October 6 to 20, according to an advisory issued by Delhi Traffic Police on Saturday. Commuters are advised to take alternative routes as key stretches will face disruptions.

Traffic Impact on Tura Mandi Chowk-Shyam Vihar Chowk Route

The repair work will particularly affect the Tura Mandi Chowk-Shyam Vihar Chowk-Najafgarh drain stretch. Traffic restrictions will vary based on the section of the road being worked on, and diversions will be in place to manage vehicle flow.

Alternate Routes for Commuters

Motorists travelling from Najafgarh Tura Mandi Chowk towards Dwarka are advised to use the main Najafgarh-Uttam Nagar Road or the Najafgarh-Kapashera Road. For those heading from Dwarka to Tura Mandi Chowk or Najafgarh, the suggested route is through Old Palam Road, connecting to the Uttam Nagar-Najafgarh Road.

Additional Traffic Diversions

A diversion will also be placed at Shyam Vihar Chowk, depending on the progress of the repair work. Commuters are urged to avoid roadside parking on the affected stretch to ease congestion.

Traffic Hit on Ring Road Due to Flyover and Underpass Construction

In a separate advisory, traffic disruptions have also been reported on Ring Road, near Bharat Darshan Park signal, due to the construction of a flyover and underpass. The road will operate with a single lane for the next 7-8 days.

Commuters traveling from Britannia Flyover towards Moti Nagar are advised to take the Punjabi Bagh Flyover to avoid delays.

Closure of GTK Road Due to Metro Work

Additionally, GTK Road, from Shakti Nagar Chowk towards Ghantaghar, will remain closed due to construction work by DMRC. Traffic from Azadpur will be diverted left towards Khalsa College, the police said in an X post.

Stay updated with route changes to minimize inconvenience during this period.
