Special Cell Arrests Police Official, Associate For Supplying Drugs In Delhi

Delhi Police's Special Cell arrested a traffic Police official along with an accomplice. They were arrested at Zafrabad Metro Station.

New Delhi: A Traffic police official carrying a consignment of drugs with an accomplice was arrested near Zafrabad Metro station by Delhi Police Special Cell Team on Friday.

According to the police, both were ferrying drugs in their car. 1 kilogram of MDMA, worth around Rs 1 crore in the international market have been recovered from the luxury car they were traveling in. 

“The investigation is at the initial stages,” police officials said. 

Earlier, a Delhi court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Naresh Kumar, a sub-inspector in Delhi Police's crime branch, who is said to be a kingpin in the international narcotics cartel from the capital. He has been on the run since January. 

Police have also learnt that so far there is no information about Kumar fleeing from India after confirming about the same with the immigration department.

Earlier, an African national was killed in the Nihal Vihar area in Delhi after failing to return the money he had taken in exchange for providing drugs. Delhi police on Wednesday said that it had arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old African national in Nihal Vihar area.

In the initial interrogation, the arrested accused revealed the reason behind the crime that the deceased used to sell drugs and had taken money from them for providing the narcotics, however, African nationals had neither provided the drugs to them nor returned their money.
