Satna: In a shocking incident, the family members of a rape victim in Madhya Pradesh's Satna allegedly thrashed her and tried to drag her out of the court premises on Tuesday afternoon.

The family members wanted the woman to testify against the rape accused in court. However, the woman stated in favour of the rape-accused leaving the parents stunned.

Initially, the woman's family tried their best to convince the woman to stop her from testifying against the accused Shivanshu Bari, who was also her alleged boyfriend.

The victim had reached the special court of POCSO with her boyfriend and his mother to record her statement. Upon seeing Bari, the woman's family members began thrashing him as well.

However, the cops and lawyers present on the premises tried their best to diffuse the situation and managed to free the woman from further thrashing.

The woman gave a statement in the court in favour of her boyfriend and even went along with him.

The entire incident took place on September 7, 2022, when the victim was a minor. The girl's family accused Bari of abducting her, after which the family members filed a case against him at Kolgwan Police Station under sections 366, 376, and the POCSO Act.

The police traced the girl, but soon she reportedly ran away again only to be found with her partner once again.
