Kanpur: Pregnant women request doctors to align child’s birth with Ram Temple inauguration day
The expectant mothers at a Kanpur hospital have requested the doctors to align their deliveries with the auspicious day on January 22.

Kanpur: As the time of inauguration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya is getting closer, the excitement and emotion across the country and beyond have surged many fold. The entire nation is gearing up to celebrate the sacred occasion and make it memorable.
Amidst all the enthusiasm, a distinctive request has come up from the expectant mothers at Uttar Pradesh’s largest government hospital in Kanpur. The pregnant women at the hospital have requested the doctors to align their deliveries with this auspicious day on January 22. These women and their family members desire that their child should be born precisely on the same auspicious day, coinciding with the monumental day of the Ram Temple consecration ceremony.
Around 14 such requests have surfaced from expectant mothers, says doctor
As per news agency PTI, Dr Seema Dwivedi, acting incharge of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College, revealed about such written requests received by them from around 14 cesarean deliveries in one labour room.
Dr Dwivedi said, "The arrangements are being made for as many as 35 cesarean operations on January 22 complying with the unique requests made by the families.”
She said that the expectant mother and their family members have expressed their sentiments and expressed their aspiration to the doctors requesting that even if their delivery dates are a few days before or after January 22, their child’s birth should be aligned with the historic day.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and will take part in the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla's idol on January 22. The first phase of the temple is nearing its completion at full pace.
The doctor added that expectant mothers often find out an auspicious date and time from priests and request for delivery on that day. Recounting various such experiences, Dr Seema said that she delivered several babies at a scheduled time and date because the mothers and the family members stressed for the delivery to be done on a that auspicious time given to them by the priests.
“It is concerning that sometimes the family members even expect us to overlook complications that may arise for the mother and the child by doing so. The mothers believe that Lord Ram is the symbol of heroism, integrity and obedience, therefore babies born on the day of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ at the temple will also have the same qualities," Dr Dwivedi said to the news agency.
The Sanatan Dharma followers have marked the date as sacred as the day when Pran Pratishtha ceremonies will be held for Ram Lalla in the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
There are reports that the event will be celebrated on a large scale in Ayodhya amid the presence of lakhs of devotees in Ayodhya. The Uttar Pradesh government has made the necessary arrangements for the huge celebrations.
