Karnataka logs 296 fresh Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, reports 1 fatality
The Karnataka’s health department, issued a data stating that total active cases has surged to 1245, while one fatality has also been reported due to Covid-19.

Bengaluru: Karnataka on Monday reported 296 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of the active infections in the state to 1245. The Department of Health and Family Welfare of Karnataka, issued a data on January 1st, also stated that one fatality, due to Covid-19, has also been reported in the state.
Among the total active cases, 1179 patients having mild symptoms, have been kept on home-isolation, while 66 Covid-19 patients have been hospitalised.
According to the data, with the latest number of infections, the total number of cases has reached 4,090,803. It further stated that 50 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 4,049,185.
The positivity rate stood at 5.89 percent in the last 24 hours, it said.
A total of 5021 samples were tested for Covid-19 noble virus, while around 4036 RT PCR tests were conducted in the state in the last 24 hours.
The Karnataka government has constituted a cabinet sub-committee to tackle the situation and monitor the pandemic in the state, which includes Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, cabinet ministers Sharan Prakash Patil, HC Mahadevappa and MC Sudhakar.
