'Girl is Exaggerating': RG Kar's Ex-Principal Sandip Ghosh's Deleted Messages Under CBI Scanner
According to sources, Ghosh texted a person saying, "The girl is exaggerating."
New Delhi: In the latest developments in the Kolkata rape and murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) retrieved deleted messages from RG Kar Hospital's former principal Sandip Ghosh's WhatsApp and is investigating the matter. According to sources, Ghosh texted a person saying, “The girl is exaggerating.”
Abhaya Punished, Threatened
Additionally, sources have disclosed that Abhaya, the victim, previously reported concerns about the substandard quality of medication to Ghosh. After receiving no response, the 31-year-old trainee doctor escalated her complaints to higher authorities.
Furthermore, reports also indicated that Abhaya uncovered Ghosh's corrupt activities. In response, Ghosh threatened to fail her after her complaint and punished her by assigning her a gruelling 36-hour shift.
CBI Seeks Ghosh's Polygraph Test
The probe agency again seeks permission for a polygraph test. This comes as the agency previously called Ghosh's polygraph tests and layered voice analysis 'deceptive.'
The department earlier also wanted Ghosh's Narco Test and the polygraph test of Tala OC Abhijit Mondal. The probe agency has sought permission for the same from the Sealdah Court and the plea in the matter will be heard today.
Bengal Medical Council Revokes Registration of Sandip Ghosh
The West Bengal Medical Council in the previous week revoked the registration of former RG Kar Principal Ghosh. Ghosh has also been removed from the list of Registered Medical Practitioners maintained by the WBMC on September 19. His licence was cancelled under various provisions of the Bengal Medical Act, 1914.
As details continue to come in the Kolkata rape and murder case, the junior doctors have also rejoined their duties partially on Saturday, last week, at various government-run hospitals in West Bengal after a hiatus of 42 days.
While they returned to essential and emergency services at all state-run hospitals, the doctors continued to refrain from working in the outpatient departments (OPDs).
