Bhubaneswar: In yet another incident of train derailment, two wagons of a goods train on its way to Angul derailed near Bhubaneswar railway station in Odisha on Friday.

According to officials, there were no casualties in the incident.  

“One of the wagons had already been re-railed and the other wagon would be re-railed soon,” said DRM HS Bajwa.

He further said that the derailment took place in the Bhubaneswar station yard and that is why they were able to manage the coach traffic.

"It's basically in the Bhubaneswar station yard only. The train derailed; it was a goods train that was going towards the Angul side. Two wagons got derailed. It's in the yard; our two lines, up and down lines, are free and so, we are able to manage the coaching traffic," he said.

Earlier, a goods train in West Bengal's Ranaghat got derailed on Sunday. However, no casualties were reported.

Also, days after the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express train derailed Uttar Pradesh's Gonda, a goods train derailed in UP's Amroha district. No injuries have been reported so far in the incident. According to the reports, as many as 12 compartments of a goods train derailed in Amroha's Kalyanpura area. The railway officials, railway police personnel and the district administration rushed to the spot.
