Gandhinagar: After a slight relief of mild to moderate rainfall in the past few days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that from September 1 onwards, the state should brace itself for heavy showers as a well-marked low-pressure area from the Bay of Bengal is moving towards the state which can result in heavy to very rainfall.
Vadodara, Anand, Narmada Likely To Witness Downpour
According to IMD, Navsari and Valsad are likely to receive heavy rainfall. Similar predictions have been made for Vadodara and Chhota Udepur on Monday, while heavy downpour in Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Bharuch, Bhavnagar and Narmada on Tuesday, and heavy to very heavy rain in Narmada and Bharuch on Wednesday has been predicted.

According to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), only four places in the state received 15 mm to 26 mm of rain between 6 am and 2 pm, while other parts remained dry or received light showers during this period.

The water in the district has receded and after the break from the rain, the executive engineering team of the Narmada department is carrying out the patchwork so that the people of Narmada do not face any problems while travelling on those roads, an official statement said.In Rajkot, the district administration has commenced a survey to assess the damage caused by the recent heavy rains. Under the direction of District Collector Prabhav Joshi, financial assistance is now being provided to those affected by the floods, including compensation for animal deaths and house destruction.
